Violet Orange is currently an independent band that
tours the U.S., Japan, Europe, Australia, India, and Russia. There
first single release "Chant the mantra" sold over 20,000
units in Japan in the first year. "This was just a live recording
of a few songs we spontaneously jammed out in our project studio.
We never intended to release it as a c.d." But as fate would
have it, a local Tokyo musician who received a copy loved the music
so much that he got it on the radio and in clubs around Japan. "The
next thing you know we were on a flight to Tokyo to play some sold
out gigs", Tony. That was the birth of the highly eclectic
dark rock band Violet Orange. "What makes our music different
is that we fuse ancient mantra's, instruments, and rhythms from
India with all the toys of western alternative rock. The harmonium,
Mirdanga, and chanting can really paint dramatic dimensions which
contemporary instruments cannot imitate. That's our niche, we can
tastefully blend ragas with rock."
The band is currently working on the pre production of there first E.P. set to
be released in the later part of 2008. "We really want to work with a great
producer on the final tracks selected, an outside voice is always respected and
appreciated while polishing a project." Our intention is to tell a story
and take people on an intimate journey influenced by tribal Indian culture. I
have seen it with my own eyes, when we play live the crowd goes into a deep trance,
they forget themselves they forget time and space as we perceive it in material
dimensions. These powerful Mantras awake a dormant side of everyones heart. There
is a huge difference between transcendental sound and our every day vocabulary.
Many of these Mantra were kept secret amongst high priests for thousands of years.
We very fortunatly taped into this secret after a life changing trip to India.
I really feel that we have something the rest of the world needs, when you here
good news you should share it. So touring the world seems to be the right thing
to do. Life can give you several paths to choose from in a split second. It was
a bold choice to become a full time musician, but it is truly the only road of
complete satisfaction. It is our nature to give, so by giving divine sound to
the next generation of rockers is a huge privilege and honor. |
